British Fashion Awards 2007

On Tuesday 27th November 2007 the winners of this year's British Fashion Awards were announced at a glittering gala dinner at the Lawrence Hall in London hosted by the British Fashion Council and supported by Swarovski.  

It was Stella McCartney who scooped up the prestigious title of Designer of the Year presented to her by the actress Thandie Newton. The doyenne of British fashion, Dame Vivienne Westwood, graciously accepted the BFC Award for Outstanding Achievement in Fashion Design from the willowy Vice Chairman of the British Fashion Council, Erin O'Connor. Scotsman Christopher Kane won New Designer after three stunning seasons in fashion.  

Detmar Blow and Philip Treacy handed over the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator to the sensational production designer Michael Howells. Anya Hindmarch may have been pipped at the post for Designer of the Year but she waltzed off with the award for Designer Brand.  Agyness Deyne became Model of the Year; Christopher Bailey of Burberry won the Menswear award; the Marchesa design duo took the Red Carpet award and jewellery designer Tom Binns was given the Accessory Designer prize. Marc Jacobs new store in London's Mount Street was named  the best new Retail Concept. The BFC Enterprise Award sponsored by Swarovski was won by Erdem Moralioglu.
